Is it better to leave the keys in your vehicle when it is parked in your attached garage or take them inside?

Should you take the keys out of the car and keep them in the house with you as my recent local newsletter suggests?
I’ve heard conflicting recommendations from law enforcement about this–When I lived in Atlanta, the police recommended that you leave the keys to your vehicles inside them while your car was in your locked garage. I live in the suburbs in a the Midwest now, in a community that is low on crime, but still want to be vigilant.
I leave mine in my car, since I don’t want anyone coming inside my house to find my car keys. They can have my darn car!

If you notice that a prosecutor is losing a trial because the prosecutor doesn’t have all information, but you have it and if you want to stay anonymous, how can you email the prosecutor?
The court is not giving away the email addresses of prosecutors and judges.
