Anyone know how to tell what brands or do not support sweatshops, poaching or things environmentally harmful?

I am teaching a unit on interconnectedness for a middle school biology unit and students are intersted and asking for more information. I think its awsome they don’t want to just stop at knowing there are issues. Are there watchdog websites or newsletters…?

Homemade is great.
Locally grown cattle.
Thrift stores reduce the need for more production, period, and eliminate the question altogether.
The answer to your question? Not sure, but thinking outside the passe box is probably a good bet, too.

There is a great website and book called Better World Shopper. They have done a lot of research to see which companies or brands use both ethical and environmental practices. They rate companies from A-F depending on their policies. There is an easy to use guide that you can purchase in book form or download onto your ipod.
