How do you set up an automated email?

I am selling some ebooks that I have the resell rights to on ebay and to make it easier for me I would like to be able to set up an automated email that sends the file to the buyer as soon as he/she pays for it. That way I can take care of other things. Does anyone know how to do this?

I can think of one way, but if you could write your own POP3 client you probably would have already thought of doing it. There’s probably some easier way, but I don’t know what it is.
