I have foot pain when I put pressure on it?

Written by admin on October 20th, 2009

I am a runner and I recently went out for a run. When I put pressure on my right foot, I experienced horrible pain in my foot. It only hurts when I put pressure on the toe area. And it hurts when I walk as well. The pain comes around my big toe but not on the toe. It is definitely internal because there are no blisters. I need to letter in track so please give me some good news?!?!?!?!?!

it sounds like a tendon injury
the muscle in question is the flexor hallucis longus muscle
it works to help you push off when running
if you push too hard or with bad technique, this injury occurs
self treat with massage to the inner calf (you should find a tender area in the mid 1/3 of the inner calf area
    also do calf stretches
