Do you think Your childs Teacher is.?

Written by admin on October 6th, 2009

To dumb to teach them? My Daughter is in Kindergarden, You would think this would not be hard to teach. This teacher piles on the home work that we do every week. The news letters she sends home are full of wods not spelled right like Wednesday she spells it Wenessday. She gives instructions for home work she doesnt send home, Gives wrong page numbers , Or no instruction at all leaving me looking at a page wondering what she wants. It just scares me that she is teaching children.

My daughter and her friend came in and said did you know it never snows or rains in Texas or California? I said thats not true…….. They said yes it is teacher said so. THE NEXT WEEK CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS BOTH GOT ICE.
She is a new teacher. I have called her many times to make sure I got all the work.

I am really sorry for any mistakes I made, I am not teaching kids, I have been up since 4 am. worked until 1 , and had oral surgery , so Im still a bit tired. I was not trying to worry if I had good sentence structure.
I have a 15 yr old also, and never had to deal with this. His teachers were great.

I am against them having to bring work home. As a parent we have to pretty much do it for them. Its just silly. She has weekly spelling tests now So we have to study that as well. I dont mind helping her, But think its silly for K

Bring up your concerns to the principal, and hope that she doesn’t have tenure.

you need to go to the school superintendant and complain- this could be very damaging! My daughter had to know how to read by the third week of kindergarden and is in second grade now and doing bood reports, if you don’t get this under control your child can suffer tremendiously.

Wow… that teacher is an idiot. I would speak it about this with the principle and then the school board. Also, this needs to be brought up in a PTA meeting.

I would speak with your child’s principle immediately. If you feel that your child is getting misinformation at school then you have a right to complain. Maybe this is a new teacher, fresh out of college. I would definitely be concerned.

    Welcome to the real world.

Treat the school as an interesting place to spend time, but don’t make it seem important to your kids. Teach them yourself, and make them take the media, TV, teachers, preachers, ‘role models’ and other pop culture icons as so much drivel.

My parents did that, and we grew up relatively unscarred by the nutcases that crossed our paths, while getting an excellent education.

As others have suggested, you should report this teacher. Have concrete examples to show the principal and possibly the school board. I know that, growing up, I had some teachers of questionable intelligence and something should be done for your child’s benefit.

And, not to be rude or anything, but it would also help your daughter if you were able to accurately spell words and put together sentences in proper, grammatical form. It is just as important for parents to properly help a child as it is for a teacher to do so.

I hope you pull your kids out of public schools as soon as you can. My experience in public schools ended after 9th grade when I dropped out. Good friggin’ bye I said! I dont regret a thing about it either! I learned more a the kitchen table than I ever did at school.

As a teacher, I have – unfortunately – seen other teachers who I felt were unqualified. I think this usually happens in areas where it is difficult to get applicants. My suggestion to you would be to take some evidence (such as the newsletters) to the principal and discuss your concerns. Students often accidentally miscommunicate what the teacher has said, so the principal will probably not find that information to be as reliable. Hopefully, the principal will be responsive to your concerns and will be able to work with the teacher or take other action if he finds it necessary.

We teachers are taught in school to make sure that we don’t have errors in spelling and grammar when we send notes home, but unfortunately sometimes there are errors that are overlooked. But I agree that the assignments should have complete directions. She probably feels overwhelmed. My daughter didn’t have any homework in Kindergarten. Kids believe what the teacher says no matter what it is because she is the teacher. That teacher could say that 1+1=3 and they would believe her. Talk to the teacher about your concerns about the Texas/California thing I’m sure more things will come up.

I would be very worried I am 15 and a freshman in high school I have a teacher who only talks about his times in Vegas and his family and I have a teacher that talks about ***.But then again so many schools wonder why test scores are so low and they wonder why in many schools (in Indiana where I live) drop out rates are really high
