How do I stop spam mail in my yahoo group?

Written by admin on December 19th, 2008

I have a freecycle group and one person joined and posted an email about this group freebievipclub@googlegroups.com newsletter, so I banned that person and posted we would not allow ads like that in the group. Every since then the newsletter is posted in our group mail. I go and ban the member and delete the email, of course too late all my members have already received it and they are feed up with it being posted also. How can I ban this newsletter from our group mail?????

I have my group set so that all new members are moderated. They have to demonstrate that they know basic Freecycle and web etiquette before they get taken off.

Go to your home page, and click on Management. Under Group settings, select Messages. Under Posting and Archives, click on Edit, and then select the “new members are moderated” option.

Remember that there is also a Freecycle ModSquad with lots of helpful (if opinionated) people in it!
